▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ THE STORY

On the world of Zythe there are four kingdoms: Rell, Aomet, Myssi, and Illyss. They were all prosperous in their own rights, and at peace with one another. There was an abundance of trading between the four kingdoms, and a shared interest in keeping down rebellions, brigands, and all manner of chaotic things. Since the Disaster - as it had come to be known as - both commoners and nobles alike decided that it was in everyone's best interest not to upset the Gods again. Thousands of years passed with this peace in place, and the world prospered from it handsomely. That is to say, none of the kingdoms went to war with each other during this period of time known as The Great Peace. However, during the year 7683 after the Disaster something occurred that changed the world as it was known.

Elik, the God of Wisdom was murdered by a God that goes only by Ambition. Now, Ambition had been aware of a special jewel of Elik's that gave the holder immense wisdom in anything that the holder turned their attention towards. Seeing the potential in such an item of power, Ambition decided to claim it for his own and murdered Elik when Ambition thought he was least expecting an attack. Having been warned only minutes previous by the God of Knowledge, cast his jewel to Zythe for safekeeping, never guessing the negative effects it would have on the peaceful kingdoms that inhabit the planet. Neither of the Gods of either Wisdom or Knowledge had any foresight to the terrible things that would happen when you give humanoids an object of such immense power. To Linne, the God of Knowledge's woe, she found out too late to change what happened.

Rumors began to spread with the traders of a jewel that fell from the sky like a meteor. This jewel, they whispered, was said to give the holder immense power to have wisdom of anything they wished. Of course as with rumors, the further they spread and more well known they became brought a consequence to light. Three of the four kingdoms wished for this jewel now known as Elik's Wisdom to be in their possession. They wished to use it for their own good, to be able to manipulate it for trading purposes at first. Then it was that they wanted it in use for conquest over the others. For even though the jewel wasn't inherently evil, the mere purpose of this jewel twisted even the best of the rulers into wanting it to dominate. Borders were closed, almost all trading was stopped, and skirmishes started to break out as the three kingdoms became paranoid about the ongoings of the others.

Illyss however, kept a strictly neutral stance on the whole thing. At first they wanted Elik's Wisdom just like the others. Over time though the royal family saw what it was doing to their friends and decided they definitely did not need a thing that would pervert even the most pure and kindhearted of people. They let it be known that they wanted no part in the imminent war, and decided to keep its' borders open to all refugees seeking to escape. The only time anyone was refused at the border were if they belonged to one of the armies of the other kingdoms, and didn't wish for the kingdoms to see Illyss allowing the travel of the army through their land as a breaking of neutrality.

Linne seeing what was occurring, decided to take steps to ensure Elik's Wisdom was returned their plane: The Plane of Understanding. She picked suitable candidates for the task from all races, heights, and abilities to aid in its' return. All that was told to the candidates was that they must return Elik's Wisdom to the Plane of Understanding at all costs. The God of Knowledge understood that some things had to be figured out on their own, and left out some things that she knew their world had knowledge of; even if it was all but forgotten. She then tasked them with starting at The Silver Star Inn in Gunala to meet their companions they would be working with.

She left them with the ominous words: The fate of all the worlds rests on your shoulders....

As a note, there is no character profile for this roleplay. The only thing I ask is that they are at LEAST 18 years old.

Her name was Anabell Mari Sule, and you should do well to remember it. Not that she was very popular, just that she thought very highly of herself. It was in such a way that she would never be able to guess why someone would not want to think just as highly of her, whether they knew her or not. Wasn't her appearance enough of a hint? If it isn't obvious, intelligence is not her strong point; although she isn't stupid by any means. It's more of common sense that Anabell seems to be lacking, in strong portions. What may be absolutely distinguishable to most people tends to just pass her right by as though she wasn't even there. On top of this, things just happen to have a habit of coming up to trip, run into, or hit her without her knowing how it happened. A nonsensical klutz would probably be a very accurate description of her. Anabell tends to wander through life as one giant daydream, and because of this, tends to have the either fortunate or unfortunate pattern of dragging people along with her as she bounds along towards her next great (mis)adventure. At least when she wasn't following along like a puppy that was offered a treat for behaving anyway.

So when Linne came to her one day, Anabell had convinced herself that what she had seen and who she had talked to was all just a very interesting daydream that happened across her path. As a result of this, she very adamantly decided to do what her daydream told her to do. It wasn't every day that one had a daydream demanding the return of something, was it? After all, the way Anabell looked at it, she might have some very interesting experiences regardless of how dangerous it might end up being. The idea of being maimed, kidnapped, killed, or otherwise harmed in an effort to do as the Daydream Goddess told her was nothing short of exhilarating to think about.

Anabell didn't really have a lot of belongings. She tended to lose things quite easily, so she kept everything important on her person for safekeeping. Although how safe that was was unclear. Once she'd packed what little needed to be packed-which basically consisted of getting dressed-she flounced out of the room she had been staying in, calling a farewell to the people around her as they gave her curious glances before going on their way. After all, it was perfectly normal for Anabell to run off after some flutter-thought that happened across her one afternoon. Her whimsical attitude wasn't something that was thought of very long or hard, which meant that Anabell left town almost unnoticed it was so normal to the folk around the area.

Thankfully, or regretfully depending on who you asked, Anabell was already in Illyss. Resultantly, it only took her a couple of days to get to Gunala from the little no name town she had been in previously due to a rumor of the magnificent three horned butterfly that she had been determined to spot. This butterfly did not exist at all in fact; it was just another daydream of hers that she'd decided to follow. It took her all of the rest of the day to find the inn mentioned in her day dream, as she kept getting sidetracked or lost along the way. Finally though, as the last rays of the sun set over the horizon, Anabell managed to find The Silver Star Inn. Amid much tripping and running into people and things, she found a table back in a corner with a view of the door in the hopes of seeing the other companions before they saw her.

He awoke with his face planted quite firmly against the soft, supple bosom of the woman that he had taken back to his place late the previous night. Or maybe by that time it had been in the wee hours of this morning. Whatever the time, it was when only ghosts walked the streets. For that was the time that mortal men were asleep in their beds; whether they had been drinking, whoring, gambling, or any other diversion only late nights could bring. Even though, or perhaps because of how late he had arrived home with her, he had made a point of giving her a good time. it seemed besides the fact that she was the one that was supposed to do that for him, but details details. It wasn't every day that he managed to end up with someone as beautiful as this exquisite creature that shared his bed this morning; and he had felt that he earned a bit of a sleepless night, thank you very much.

It was as he rolled over and rubbed the sleep from his eyes that he remembered that really strange dream he had had that night after they finally fell asleep. The strange thing to Vincent was that he never remembered his dreams, or if he did they were fuzzy, dim, and hard to remember. He didn't even need to strain himself to remember this one, it was as clear as if he had had the conversation five minutes ago. Even that was strange about this dream. He never dreamt about having just a conversation. There was no action, no passion, no anything really; just talking. Don't get him wrong, the lady was absolutely gorgeous. Just the entire thing was out of the ordinary. It was probably because it was abnormal more than anything that convinced him that he should probably pay attention to what this was about.

He climbed out of bed slowly as to not wanting to wake his lady friend, and quietly padded over to wash his face as he thought of the conversation. It was a Goddess that talked to him, of that he was fairly certain. He'd never even imagined such an amazing place that she had summoned him to last night to talk; this was probably also a factor in his belief that this was real. After all, who dreamt about places they'd never been only to remember them perfectly? Artists maybe; but he was no artist. Linne, he thought her name was. If he remembered right - and he was sure he did - she was the Goddess of Knowledge. She had told him something about needing to save an item that had belonged to the now deceased God of Wisdom. He couldn't help but snort a little. The God of Wisdom didn't even have the wisdom to keep such an object on the down low. It was kind of ironic to him. In any case though he had determined that it might be interesting to help this Goddess Linne with her problem. Hey, maybe she will reward him after it was all said and done.

Time Skip!

It had been a long journey, and he was tired. He could feel the energy ebbing away from him as his feet scuffed along the ground as he forced them to keep moving even though they - and he - would rather have stopped long ago. He knew he was just about there though, having arrived in this city just a little while past. Through war, turmoil, banditry, and all around chaos as the countryside erupted amid all the rumors about the Kingdoms going to war he had walked. And walked, and walked is what he did for days. Two weeks, maybe three was what it took him to get here. He had just enough money left to buy himself a room to collapse in and some food. Hopefully it didn't take too long for the others to arrive so they could get moving. It hadn't really occurred to him to bring more money than he had, and he was seriously hurting for it now.

After long last, rounding the last corner awarded him with a view of the inn he was supposed to be meeting at. Thank the Gods for that because man was he tired! The site of the inn gave him enough energy to manage a little more than the shuffle he was doing since he entered the city, and it brought him all the way into the inn. Immediately smells of whatever was cooking in back assaulted his nose. It smelled amazing, making his mouth water and his stomach growl. He quickly ordered some of whatever that smell was being made from, and looked around to see if there were any others in the place that might look like they were brought here by Linne. A girl in the corner automatically made him think of just that: pink hair, swaying in her seat despite a lack of alcohol, and it looked like she was talking or singing to herself.

Just what he needed. A crazy person for a companion. His day was made complete at last. A grumble forced its way out of him, though was lost in the noise of the common room as he made his way across, dodging chairs and tables as he went. An up close view of her did NOT help his original assessment of her at all. Shaking his head in disgust he sat down without saying a word. He figured that sooner or later she would figure out why he was there. Hopefully Linne had had enough sense to tell her that she would have companions like she'd told him. If not, well that would make things very interesting; if interesting was the right word for it.
